In 1998, Rama Jyoti Vernon, as President of Women of Vision, organized a trip as part of the Legion of Goodwill to Brazil. On November 24-29, 1999, Rama organized a Yoga and Music Festival in Havana, Cuba, where the theme of the yoga festival was, "Lifting the Embargo on Our Hearts." The purpose of the yoga festival was to embrace Cuban people, transcend superficial differences, and promote healing and unity among people.
